Today was to be a gentler day, particularly after the excesses of the night before (for some at least). There were no significant climbs and the WHW was on the old military road or forest tracks all day. We were to be joined for most of the day by Davie and Matt, until they reached their wigwam camp for night.
The day started at about 10.00 with a gentle climb following the ebbs and flows of the River Falloch. Passing the 5 students on the way, we paused to administer first aid to Caroline's blistered foot. At the top of the climb we forked left and descended, before crawling under the road and railway via a sheep creep.

The path continued to wind along the hillside until we reached the halfway point near Crainlarich. We turned away from town and climbed the steep hill up into the forest. Lunch was in a clearing near the top of the hill overlooking the river valley.
The afternoon began with an undulating meander along the forest track, until we descended back to cross under the railway and over the road. The way continued over the river and passed an ancient chapel before running parallel to the road until we reached the wigwam farm, where we had a brief tea stop. This is where Davie & Matt left us until the end.
Re-crossing the road the way continued passed the old the lead mines and into Tyndrum, the time was 3.15'ish so we stopped at Paddy's Bar for a quick shandy before walking the B&B to check in at 4.00. Being Sunday dinner that night was soup and roast (as much as you can eat) at the local carvery.
